Our parish community has grown considerably over the
past decade. Even adding an additional Sunday Evening Mass was not
enough to relieve the crowding during other Mass times. The Parish
Council recommended, and Father Jim accepted, that we expand the
church to provide more seating. Bishop Baker signed the paperwork
for the expansion in the fall of 2010.
The picture below shows how the church has changed
through the construction process that started immediately after Christmas
and was completed by Easter. The expansion has given
us an 80% increase in seating from approximately 120 to 213 seats.
Other noteworthy items: New Altar and Tabernacle, expansion and remodeling of the restrooms, new
sound system, new fire alarm and security system, added insulation, new shingles, improved heating and air conditioning, new carpeting for the
entire church, new wood flooring for the sanctuary, expanded sacristy, new
padding and fabric for seating and kneelers, new kitchen appliances and
flooring, complete repainting, new landscaping, and so much more to make
our church a beautiful place to worship!
The Expansion of the Church was formally blessed by Bishop Robert J.
Baker on the Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux, October 1, 2011. Click
